Hello! I'm Kim Lacey, Professor of English at Saginaw Valley State University. My research interests include rhetoric, digital humanities, artificial intelligence, creativity, and writing studies. I've taught a variety of undergraduate level composition and literature courses as well as courses in honors, first-year experience, and gender studies. I invite you to check out the links above to learn more about my research and teaching interests.

I am currently working on a book manuscript titled Creative Futures: Robot Picassos, Fake Friends, and Other Sneaky Ways Technology Acts Creatively (under contract with Lexington Books). This book looks at the creative applications of artificial intelligence (AI) by using the rhetorical concept of techne to understand whether various systems enact creativity. Many of my conference presentations and previous research have informed this project, and I encourage you to peruse my previous work
